Torrey was born in Washington, D.C. and currently resides in Savannah, GA. She is the third of four children. Her mother is also a painter. Her recent works explore the abstract definition of the term control. A variety of social, cultural, popular, and medical references are used in her works to help visually define her beliefs and disbeliefs.
